SERVICE IN THE CONGREGATION

Christ Memorial is an active community with opportunities for everyone to serve the Lord in ministries that support music, altar service, children's worship and administration.  These are just a few of the wide varieties of tasks and activities that are enhanced by the gifts and individual skills of our members.  We value creativity and commitment in every area of ministry.

SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY

God has blessed us, and we want to share our blessings with our neighbors throughout the world.  We have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with members of the military to provide school supplies to Iraqi school children; we have supported other congregations in New Jersey and other parts of the U.S. by providing clothing to missions in Africa and elsewhere.   Annually, we support Thanksgiving food drives and give Christmas gifts to the residents of a local care center.  We regularly support food collection activities and blood drives.

Christ Memorial's annual Holiday food and toy drive helped families from Lascasha Lutheran Church and Conerly Road School.  Families  enjoyed delicious Christmas dinners and children have had gifts on Christmas that otherwise might have had little or nothing.

CARING MINISTRIES

The pastoral staff at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church is available to encourage and nurture individuals toward the life of fulfillment and joy that is possible by God's grace through faith.  A visitation ministry, enhanced by a tape ministry, allows brothers and sisters who are ill or home-bound to share in the worship of their congregational family.  Pastoral counseling is available with special support when one should "lose" a loved one or face other personal crises.

Serve the Lord with gladness!  Come into His presence with singing!   Psalm 100:2

Memorial contributions and Thank- offerings may be given at any time, in memory of departed loved ones, and also in honor of birthdays, baptisms, weddings, anniversaries, the birth of a new baby, Confirmation or First Communion, or to the Glory of God.  Contributions can be put into the white “Thank You” envelopes found in the pew racks and designated as to the type of offering desired.  Place them in the offering plate or mail them directly to the church office.
